Hi, my name is Pierpaolo and I'm a self taught 3D artist.
I'm both interested to CGI and real time graphics but my work experience so far has lead me more to video games.
I've always loved movies and videogames. I think I was 4 when I was jumping through my neighbor's window (ground floor, don't worry lol) to play with him on his PC (I can't remember what model was it). A few years later arrived my very first computer, an Amiga 600 bought with all my savings. I waited so much for that day, I can't say how happy I was! From there began the fight between one of my favorites hobbies and my family, but that's another story.
That day, playing my first games like Populous or Toki I began to dream about how awesome it would have been to contribute to the development of something like that, creating worlds never seen before, the opportunity to communicate with something more than just words or images. Videogames have always inspired me and continue to inspire me thanks to all the art and awesome people behind them.

While my passion for videogames was developing, there was another one growing more and more. It was for special FX, thanks to a TV show I used to watch in a regional TV channel which showed me some of the magic behind movies with makeup FX, animatronics, and finally CG.
I can’t tell you how much I love it: movies like Tron (quite obvious uh? ;D) and Terminator 2, opened a whole new universe to me. I fell in love with polygons and became curious about how games and movies were made
I began dreaming about working with computers and the beauty of creating something from nothing. But... Life went on, and between good and bad choices (as for anybody), I chose a school that had nothing to do with my real passions, and complicated my life quite a bit. I don't regret making those decisions, but it became my official lesson that not believing in yourself is the biggest waste of time of all.
During my last years at school I became more and more interested in the videogame modding scene, and I began to translate video games while learning English. I made a team, translated some games, and then I got my first job in the gaming industry as a localization tester for a company that I would have never believed I could work with.
Thanks to that experience I’ve been able to do and see things that before I could only dream of. I learned a lot and met amazing people too. The job wasn’t easy. There was a lot of pressure, a large amount of work to do, and a lot of extra hours, but I must say I didn’t care at all! I mean, it was my dream job! ;D

While that experience was completed when my contract expired, thanks to that job I realized that the gaming industry was the one I wanted to be involved with. I didn't want it to be a dream anymore, but a goal. So I have been gaining experience and motivation in order to continue to work in the industry.
I chose 3D graphics to mix my two passions and I’m working to make that happen.
It's time to show what I do too, so I’ve created this blog to keep track of my work and keep my focus on being, aware that sometimes shit happens and no matter how hard life hits, there is no point in not doing whatever you possibly can to achieve whatever makes you feel good.

I think I’m done with introductions now so, thanks to whoever will stop by, good luck to me, to you and enjoy your day with a smile. :)
